Assistant Pastor Ryan Rauhaus
Pastor Rauhaus is privileged to have grown up in church. He was saved at the age of seven during Awanas, a program for children to help them learn and memorize the Bible. He first felt God's call to preach in junior high and then surrendered to that call at Youth Conference in July 1990. At the age of sixteen, he became a bus captain in his home church; it was also at this time that he began to hold and preach services in one of the area nursing homes, as well as to lead the congregational singing for the regular church services.
After graduating from high school, he attended Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana for one year. At the end of that year, the pastor of his home church started a Bible institute, offering night classes, and he decided to continue his education there. It was during that time that he struggled with whether God really wanted him to preach, or if it was what he thought everyone else wanted him to do. Because of this, he stopped taking classes, but continued to serve in his church through his bus route, leading the congregational singing and teaching the Kindergarten and first grade boys' Sunday School class.
As the years went on, he continued to feel God calling him to the ministry full time, thus proving the Bible true when it states that the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Finally, in August of 2003, he surrendered to God's prompting. After much prayer and counsel, he made the decision to move his family to Gaylord, Michigan in order to complete his education at Grace Baptist College. In May of 2007, he graduated, receiving a Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree in Pastoral Theology.
Pastor Rauhaus joined the staff of Landmark Baptist Church shortly after graduating, and today he fulfills a wide range of responsibilities, including Christian School Administrator and leader of the teen group.
